Essential Folding Bike Accessories for a Better DAHON Riding Experience
A folding bike is only as good as the gear that supports it. Whether you commute through the city every day, head out for weekend rides, or simply run errands, the right bicycle accessories can turn your ride from merely functional into truly effortless. DAHON has developed a complete range of folding bike accessories designed specifically for the unique demands of compact, portable cycling.
Unlike generic third-party accessories, every DAHON accessory is designed for compatibility with specific DAHON folding bike models. From the Valet Truss mounting system, which keeps luggage weight away from your steering, to the Landing Gear, which lets you roll your folded bike like luggage, every product reflects more than 40 years of folding bike engineering expertise.
Genuine DAHON Accessories Seamless Compatibility Guaranteed
The difference between a genuine DAHON accessory and a universal alternative lies in the details. DAHON folding bikes have unique frame geometries, folding mechanisms, and clearance requirements that generic accessories often fail to meet. Choosing genuine folding bike accessories means no interference with the folding mechanism and a secure fit that stays stable even on uneven roads.
The Valet Truss and Quick Coupler Set is a perfect example: a frame-mounted front luggage system that transfers the load directly to the frame structure rather than the handlebar. This helps maintain precise steering even when the Aluminum Cargo Basket is fully loaded. Please note: this set may not fit older DAHON models, so check compatibility before purchase. The Phone Holder mounts without obstructing the folding mechanism, meaning you do not need to remove it between rides.
Why Choose Genuine DAHON Accessories?
- Fold-compatible design -- Every accessory is engineered not to interfere with the folding mechanism, so you can fold and unfold your bike without removing installed accessories.
- Frame-specific mounting -- The Valet Truss system and Landing Gear attach to DAHON-specific braze-ons and frame points, providing a secure, rattle-free fit that universal mounts cannot match.
- Durability tested to DAHON standards -- From the stainless-steel hooks of the Adjustable Elastic Strap to the PVC-coated braided steel of the Combination Cable Lock, every material is validated for daily use.

Frequent Ask Questions about DAHON Folding Bike Accessories
Why should I choose genuine DAHON accessories over third-party alternatives?
DAHON folding bike accessories are developed according to DAHON’s own technical specifications, ensuring precise fit and reliable performance. Unlike generic alternatives, they are designed not to interfere with the folding mechanism and use DAHON-specific mounting points such as the Valet Truss system. However, compatibility varies by model, so always check the product detail page before purchasing.
How do I mount a basket or front rack on my DAHON folding bike?
The Valet Truss and Quick Coupler Set is the required mounting kit for front luggage on compatible DAHON folding bike models. It attaches to a dedicated braze-on on the frame rather than the handlebar, helping keep steering light and precise. Please note: this set may not fit older DAHON models. Once installed, the Aluminum Cargo Basket or compatible bags can be attached and removed in seconds.
Which lock is best for securing a folding bike in the city?
The DAHON Combination Cable Lock offers a balanced combination of security and portability. The 5-digit resettable code provides 10,000 possible combinations, while the 1.2-meter self-coiling braided steel cable is PVC-coated to help protect your frame. The integrated seatpost mount keeps it within easy reach. For maximum security, combine it with bringing your folded DAHON indoors whenever possible.
How do I check whether a DAHON accessory is compatible with my bike model?
Compatibility depends on the specific model, production year, frame material, and available mounting points. For example, the Landing Gear requires an aluminum frame with a rectangular braze-on featuring two screw holes. The Valet Truss may not fit older models. The Phone Holder and Water Bottle Cage fit many bikes, but you should still check handlebar diameter and frame mounting holes. The Adjustable Elastic Strap requires suitable attachment points or a rack. Always read the product-specific compatibility notes carefully before ordering.
How can I make my folded DAHON folding bike easier to transport and store?
The Landing Gear adds small rollers that fold out underneath your folded DAHON folding bike, allowing you to roll it through train stations, apartment hallways, and office corridors instead of carrying it. To secure the folded package, the Adjustable Elastic Strap keeps everything tightly together so it does not unfold during transport.
